Fight Fungus by using Tea Tree Oil, Jojoba Oil and Menthol
Herbal products have been effective in treating toenail and foot fungus for centuries. Below is a list of prominent herbal ingredients that are used in PediMD products that are known for their anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and healing properties .
Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil has beneficial medical properties when applied topically; including anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral. It is an effective treatment for multiple fungal diseases including ringworm, athlete’s foot and toenail fungus and thrush.
Tea Tree Oil is an ingredient in PediMD Step 1 Nail Lacquer. We have combined the tea tree oil molecule with jojoba oil, which has a smaller particle size in order to allow the tea tree to penetrate the nail and treat the nail root where fungus thrives.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba Oil serves as an excellent moisturizing agent with exceptional lubricity. The oil leaves a rich velvety non-oily feel on the skin while retaining water to enhance the flexibility and suppleness of the skin and promote the growth of new skin cells.
Jojoba Oil is used in our nail treatment system primarily to rejuvenate infected nail and skin cells and promote the growth of new, healthy cells. This oil speeds the growth of an infected nail while it heals, soothes and moisturizes the surrounding skin leaving, it soft and smooth.
Menthol - Vics Vapo Rub
Menthol has anti-bacterial and anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties. Menthol is a strong alcohol which not only cleans the nail, but also treats the fungus as well.
Many doctors prescribe menthol cream as a cure for nail fungus. However, menthol cannot penetrate the nail and reach the source of the fungus. PediMD Nail Treatment System is designed to unroof the top layer of the nail through the use of Urea and allow the Menthol to penetrate through the nail and into the root where fungus grows and multiplies.
